First time mothers are always worried about how they will know whether they are in labour.

There are several signs which can predict you are in labor or its going to start in few hours or days.

Know the signs

They include :

1. Tightening of uterus or abdomen

2. ‘Show’ is seen, which is mucus plug comes out from mouth of uterus( cervix).

3. Dull aching back pain, like periods pain

4. Urge to pass motions.

5. Your water breaking, sudden gush of water through vagina.

   
   

What are warning signs

Urgently go to hospital if any of these sighs are there:

1. You think you are in labour

2. Having regular contractions 2-3 in 10 minutes lasting for 30-40 seconds.

3. Any kind of bleeding

4. Your baby is moving less than usual.

5. If pain starts less than 37 weeks of pregnancy.

6. Or sever unbearable continuous pain

7. Your water breaks

8. Foul smelly vaginal discharge.

9. Fever
